About Your Presenters
Danica Djurkovic
As the Vice President of Campus Planning and Facilities, Danica leads campus planning and development at five of BCIT’s campus locations across the Lower Mainland. Now is an exciting new era for BCIT as emerges as a highly sought out polytechnic school built on creative partnerships with local industry and innovative spaces to support students and shape the BC economy.
Danica is a passionate, visionary strategic leader with over 30 years of practice in real estate, planning, development and architecture (in private, nonprofit and public sectors). She has led many widely recognized practice organizations, policies, projects, and programs.
Jaret Lang
Over the past 15 years Jaret’s roles have involved managing and leading teams of employees and consultants through a diverse portfolio of land use planning projects and processes. More recently, Jaret’s work at KPU involves assembling and leading an agile team of experts with the mandate to develop a strategic growth and development plan for the university (KPU2050). This work requires strategic and thoughtful engagement processes to identify opportunities, set goals, and develop implementation plans. Jaret’s work with KPU culminated with the creation of the KPU Communities Trust (KPUCT), which began operating in August 2022.
Paul Cowcher
Paul has worked within the architectural field for 20 years. Before joining Simon Fraser University as the Associate Director of Development, where he has been for 2 years, Paul worked at Perkins & Will Architects for 15 years. Notable projects include SFU Stadium and VanDusen Botanical Gardens.
